Does cannabis kill COVID?

Rumor: Taking cannabis can prevent you from getting COVID-19.

Reality: There has been a promising new study that indicates that certain acids found in the cannabis plant can prevent the virus from entering human epithelial cells.

However this study is in its very early stages. There have been no animal or human trials, and it’s a long way away from an actual medical protocol.

In the meantime please remember that while marijuana is legal federally, state to state laws differ. There are also side effects from ingesting or inhaling marijuana and it’s possible that the very acids that could prevent COVID-19 could be destroyed by smoking or eating the plant.
