Why is there so much confusion about climate change? Fossil fuel companies and disinfluencers.

Fossil fuel companies have run large scale PR and ad campaigns against climate change facts since the early 1990s. From May-Oct 2021, one oil company spent $19 million in Facebook ads arguing against proposed laws to require new buildings to use renewable energy.

Most of us aren’t scientists or logicians. So it’s easy to bullsh*t us with things that sound logical or scientific but aren’t. Why do it? Disinfluencers are usually looking for money or power. Some sell fake cures, some sell ads. Some want to paralyze America with confusion and distrust.

Climate science is certain. 97% of climate research supports the facts: the climate is changing and the earth is rapidly warming. 77% is caused by burning fossil fuels. It's intensifying storms, droughts, floods and fires.
