More than 100,000 North Carolinians have good jobs making wind and solar power, electric car batteries, and other manufacturing parts, with tens of thousands more jobs on the way.

Massive amounts of money is pouring into North Carolina to develop clean energy sources like wind and solar, and to manufacture batteries for electric cars, and parts for wind turbines.

North Carolina's shores are windy enough to add 28,000 more jobs and provide enough electricity to power more than a quarter of homes in the state.

The US is expected to spend $140 billion building out wind farms in the US. North Carolina has the potential to capture $100 billion of that spending to build out its offshore wind farms. That’s a lot of money for jobs.

Wind power investments will bring another 28,000 construction and manufacturing jobs to North Carolina.

There are 3 wind farms in development, and the potential is so big that plans are being developed for 2 more. Just one of these will generate enough power for more than 12% of all the homes in North Carolina.

North Carolina also has the resources ready to manufacture parts for wind turbines to meet the growing global demand.

In 2023, solar energy provides 9% of NC electricity.

More than 9,000 North Carolinians have jobs in the Solar Energy industry, and provides just over 9% of all of our state’s electricity. Prices for solar energy have dropped 54% in the last 10 years.

Rural solar farms are bringing millions in tax dollars to some of North Carolina’s poorest counties.  That’s a lot of roads and schools.

Batteries and Charging Stations for Electric Vehicles

Companies like Toyota, VinFast and Kempower are investing more than $10 billion across North Carolina. North Carolina has the people, the talent and the infrastructure to support massive growth in manufacturing driven by clean energy and electric vehicles.

Together with wind turbine manufacturing, these investments are likely to establish North Carolina as an important manufacturing hub for the future.
