Do humans cause climate change?

Is climate change really caused by people?
Yes. People burn coal, oil, and gas, which pumps carbon into the air. Carbon traps heat, which heats up the air.

It's math.

In the last 150 years, average temps have risen a little over 1 degree Celsius.

Exactly what you’d predict from the amount of fossil fuels we’ve burned in that time.

How do we know? Math.

But the climate is always changing!

But the climate has always changed! Usually it changed much more slowly. When it changed fast, most plants and animals died.

True!

But this is FAST compared to natural geological changes, and we know if we stopped burning fossil fuels, we’d slow it way, way down.

2 + 2 = 4

97% of scientists agree that climate is changing and we are the cause.

Nearly all scientists agree humans are the cause of climate change.

They’ve analyzed the issue many different ways – and always get the same answer.

We could be the solution too.

Solutions are ready to go.

If we stop burning fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas), we can slow climate change and prevent huge problems (like destroying our food supply).
